Introductions

It all begins with an idea.

Maybe you are like me and constantly sound off to your friends (or anyone that will listen) about a cool musician you discovered the night before. Well that’s where this blog comes in. I am calling this a blog, by the way. It doesn’t feel formal enough to give it any other title, so blog it is!

I guess I should start by telling you a little bit about me.

I am a university student who is studying music in a very creative city. I have been writing music for the past 8 years, so I feel like I have enough experience, knowledge and passion to have somewhat of an idea of what I am talking about. I am constantly being encouraged to talk about interesting people I discover but people have become less inclined to ask as they know I can talk about these people for hours. But hey, nothing wrong with being passionate! So I thought, why not put it in writing for people to read if they’re interested? That way I can cut the waffle and keep the actual content! So that’s what I am doing!

The plan for this blog is simple… in theory! I’d love to be able to reach out to the people I am discovering and get some firsthand insight into their lives as a musician and what it means to them. But thats probably not too possible right now. So instead I will provide you with honest and critical reviews of all the latest releases and gigs as well as news on upcoming releases, gigs and new talent on the scene.

I don’t want to drag this introduction out too much so I will leave it there but consider this a discussion and be sure to follow my Instagram page (@otlblog) to share your thoughts and opinions and have your say on artists, topics or genres to discuss. Following will also help me out massively with those chats with these artists that I mentioned earlier!
